Google News Initiative funds mentorship program [Latin America]

Entrepreneurs from Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Costa Rica, Cuba, Ecuador, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, Mexico, Nicaragua, Panama, Paraguay, Peru, Puerto Rico, Dominican Republic, Uruguay and Venezuela can apply to this opportunity.

SembraMedia, with the support of the Google News Initiative, has launched Metis, a business mentoring program for Latin American media entrepreneurs.

The initiative will support seven women-founded media to make them more sustainable. Founders of the selected startups will participate in monthly meetings with international expert of the digital media ecosystem. They will also have free and complete access to the SembraMedia School's resources, where they will find training on different business models and technology.

To apply, startups must have one or more founding women, be digital natives or have a digital-first growth strategy and cover topics of public interest.

The deadline is Aug. 24.
