Grants for media, NGOs available [Kyrgyzstan]


Kyrgyz NGOs and associations that are working in the media sector, as well as independent media organizations, can apply for these grants.

The U.S. Department of State and the U.S. Embassy in the Kyrgyz Republic are accepting proposals for the Media Small Grants Program.

The program supports local civil innovative strategies that contribute to strengthening regional security and stability; strengthening entrepreneurship and small business development initiatives; and supporting a more inclusive and accountable democracy.

The maximum grant award is US$50,000 and the average award is US$30,000 for projects that last up to 12 months.

The deadline is May 6.

ANA Awards seeks reports of water issues [Brazil]



Journalists who report on water issues can compete for this award.

Brazil's National Water Agency (ANA, in Portuguese) organizes the ANA Awards to promote water security and sustainable use of water resources.

The contest has a journalism category for works that have been published or broadcast between July 1, 2017 and July 31, 2020.

The winners will receive the ANA Award trophy.

The deadline is July 31.

Film Festival accepting entries [Worldwide]



Women filmmakers from around the world can submit short documentary, fiction and animated films to this festival.

The International Women’s Film Festival "KIN" ("woman" in Armenian), organized by the Legal Gender Cultural Foundation LIZA, will take place Nov. 9 to 13 in Yerevan, Armenia.

The festival is looking for films that address issues related to women’s rights and gender problems.

There are two award categories: best film and special prize.

Competitive films must have been produced in last two years and include English subtitles.

The deadline is July 1.
