Lindau Nobel Conference offers travel grants to journalists [Worldwide]

Journalists can apply for a travel grant to cover this event.
The 68th Lindau Nobel Laureate Meeting, a conference dedicated to physiology and medicine, will take place June 24 to 29 in Lindau, Germany.
About 600 young scientists from all over the world will meet 42 Nobel Laureates. Journalists will have the opportunity to network with participants and arrange specific interviews with laureates.
Selected applicants will receive transportation and accommodation for four nights.

ABMES Journalism Contest accepting entries [Brazil]

Print, broadcast and online journalists can compete for this award.
The ABMES Journalism Award aims to encourage the production of stories that address higher education in Brazil.
Works must have been published or broadcast after June 1, 2017 and May 31, 2018.
The categories are national press, regional press, national TV, regional TV, national radio, regional radio, national internet and regional internet. The winners in each category will receive BRL10,000 to BRL15,000.
The deadline is June 8.

IJP offers fellowship [Eastern Europe, Central Asia]

Young journalists can apply for this fellowship.
The Internationale Journalisten-Programme (IJP) offers the Marion Gräfin Dönhoff Fellowship for young journalists. The aim of the program is to give young journalists an idea of the politics, economy, culture and social life of Germany, and give them an opportunity to gain work experience in foreign newsrooms.
Staff or freelance journalists ages 23 to 35 from Russia, Ukraine, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Georgia and other CIS and Baltic countries can participate in the program. Applicants must have excellent knowledge of the German language.
The program will start in October 2018. Fellows will intern in German newsrooms and work as foreign correspondents covering events in Germany for their countries’ media.
Participants will receive a stipend of EUR3,800, which will cover travel expenses, health insurance and accommodations.
The deadline is April 15.

NYT seeks journalists [Asia]

Experienced journalists can apply for two positions in Hong Kong.
The New York Times is hiring a writer for the Europe edition of its Morning Briefing and a staff editor for its international edition.
The writer will create a daily news guide that highlights the breadth and depth of The Times' stories. He or she must have strong news judgment, writing skills and the ability to collaborate with distant editors and correspondents.
The staff editor will write engaging headlines and correct spelling, grammar and other mistakes. Candidates must have at least five years of editing experience in a daily news operation.
