Scholarships available for producers,content creators [Worldwide]

Producers and content creators working in science, history and nonfiction media can apply for a bursary to attend this conference.

The World Congress of Science and Factual Producers will take place Dec. 2 to 5 in Tokyo. The event focuses on how science and history are communicated to the world.

The Emerging Producers Bursary Program offers full scholarships -- including conference accreditation, travel and accommodation-- and partial scholarships, covering registration only.

For full scholarships, priority is given to applicants from outside of Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Sweden, Switzerland, United Kingdom and the United States.

Underrepresented voices and individuals from across all cultural and geographic backgrounds are encouraged to apply.

The deadline is Aug. 30.

MFWA call for entries on governance, democracy [Africa]

Journalists who reported on politics and governance can compete for this award.

The Media Foundation for West Africa (MFWA), in partnership with a consortium of organizations working to advance the implementation of the African Charter on Democracy, Elections and Governance, organizes the Continental Journalism Awards on the African Union (AU) Charter.

Contestants must be citizens of AU member states and work with a media organization in an Anglophone, Francophone or Lusophone AU member state.

Works must have been published or broadcast between Jan. 1, 2017 and Aug. 16, 2019.

The finalists will be hosted at an MFWA ceremony on Oct. 19 in Accra, Ghana, during the West Africa Media Excellence Conference and Awards (WAMECA 2019).

The deadline is Aug. 16.
