Journalism Award seeks entries [Worldwide]

Print, online and broadcast journalists can apply for an award.
The Cancer World Journalism Award seeks outstanding pieces of journalism that are changing the way people think about cancer.
The contest has four categories: patient and carer experience; research, science and treatment; policy, services and affordability; and prevention.
Works must have been published or broadcast between October 2016 and April 2018. Non-English entries must include an English translation.
Winners will receive EUR1,500 (US$1,835) in each category. The overall winner will attend the 2018 ECCO Summit in Vienna, Austria.

Scholarship program for journalists available [Latin America]

Journalists, media specialists and students from member states of the Organization of the Ibero-American States can apply for a scholarship to undertake postgraduate studies in Spain.
The Carolina Foundation has launched its 2018-2019 graduate scholarship program. The program covers most of the enrollment fee, the round trip ticket from the place of residence of the fellow, a monthly stipend of EUR750 and medical insurance.
Those interested can apply for a scholarship to study a variety of journalism master's degrees, including sports journalism, data journalism, radio, television and multimedia journalism.
Applicants must have a strong academic or professional background as demonstrated by their resume.
The deadline is March 20.

AFAC offers Grants for visual arts [MENA]

Visual journalists can apply for this program.
AFAC) is accepting applications in the visual arts category as part of its 2018 general grants program. This year, AFAC has allocated a total of US$330,000 in grants.
The grant supports painting, sculpting, photography, installations, audio-video arts, publications and multimedia works of a contemporary and innovative nature. The program also supports exhibitions, visual arts book publications as well as art production.
Applications can be submitted in Arabic or English.
The deadline is May 1.
