Nordic Press Association accepting entries on migration [Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Norway]

Journalists in Sweden, Denmark, Finland and Norway are invited to attend this free event.

The Nordic Youth Media Days 2019, organized by the Nordic Press Association, will take place March 19 to 24, 2019 in Stockholm, Sweden.

The event aims to challenge the current media image by lifting a diversity of voices that are not represented. Participants will produce a story digging deeper into the topic of migration.

The organizer will cover accommodations, meals and travel of up to EUR120.

The deadline is Dec. 9.

College students expecting to graduate by December 2020 can apply for an internship.

Publishing company Grupo Abril is looking for journalism trainees in São Paulo.

Candidates must have intermediate English skills and be available to work six hours a day.

IJP offers Journalism exchange program [Africa, Germany]

Journalists ages 25 to 40 from Angola, Botswana, Democratic Republic of Congo, Kenya, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, South Africa, Swaziland, Tanzania, Zambia, Zimbabwe and Germany can apply.

The International Journalists' Programmes (IJP) are offering fellowships to up to six young Southern African journalists and up to five young German journalists. The Southern African-German Journalists‘ Bursary is intended to enable young journalists to gain insights into the political, economic, cultural and social fabric of the host country.

For two months, Southern African delegates will have the chance to work in Germany, followed by German delegates in Africa. They will be integrated into the day-to-day journalism of their host newsroom while researching stories for their home media.

The delegates will receive a fixed payment of EUR3,000 to cover most of their travel, accommodation and living expenses.

Candidates must have a strong command of English. German is an advantage but not mandatory.

The deadline is Feb. 15, 2019.
