Bitch Media seeks fellows [Worldwide]

Writers who are interested in feminism and social justice can apply for a remote, three-month fellowship. 
Bitch Media, a nonprofit feminist media organization, organizes the Bitch Media Fellowships for Writers.
The program consists of intensive writing fellowships whose goal is to develop, support and amplify emerging, diverse voices in feminist, activist and pop-culture media.
Possible subject areas include reproductive rights and justice, pop-culture criticism, technology and global feminism. The selected participants must produce a minimum of six online articles for Bitch Media in their topic area, in addition to at least one longform article for the magazine Bitch: Feminist Response to Pop Culture.
Fellows receive a US$2,000 stipend for the total duration of the program. U.S. citizenship or residence is not required to be a fellow. 
The deadline is Aug. 31.

State Department offers travel fellowship [US]

The Fulbright-National Geographic Digital Storytelling Fellowship, a joint venture of the U.S. State Department and the National Geographic Society, allows participants to spend an academic year traveling abroad and documenting stories.
Fellows will undertake an in-depth examination of a globally relevant issue and compare how that issue is experienced across borders. They will share their experiences using a variety of digital storytelling tools, including text, photography, video, audio, graphic illustrations and/or social media. Their stories will be published on a dedicated blog hosted by National Geographic.
This year's themes are "the human journey," "our changing planet" and "wildilife and wild places." Fellows will be able to travel to any three countries where there are active Fulbright Programs.
The deadline to apply is Oct. 6.

Workshops focuses on digital skills [Nepal]

Digital journalists can apply to attend free workshops in Kathmandu.
StoryCycle and the British Embassy in Nepal are organizing a series of journalism workshops led by former Guardian journalist Laura Oliver, Mohan Mainali, editor of South Asia Check, and other experienced media professionals. 
"Digital journalism - latest trends and practices" will take place Aug. 17 and 18, followed by "Tools for better storytelling" on Aug. 19.
Ten professional digital journalists will be selected for each workshop.
The deadline is Aug. 5.
