The My Equator Social Support Charity Foundation is accepting works for its annual photo contest "Golden Turtle."
Categories include documentary photo, new technologies in wildlife photo, photographer of the year and more.
The official languages of the competition are Russian and English.
The first place prizes in each category are US$10,000. The prize for the photographer of the year is US$20,000.

Travel scholarships available for media ethics forum [Egypt]

The Danish-Egyptian Dialogue Institute (DEDI) is accepting applications for this year’s Dialogue Forum/Summer School, which will take place Aug. 26 to Sept. 2 in Copenhagen, Denmark.
The forum aims to develop a better understanding of media ethics, providing the participants with knowledge and understanding of their future profession and its challenges.
The meeting will gather 24 Egyptian and Danish participants. All expenses will be covered by the institute.

IWMF's fund for women journalists open [Worldwide]

The International Women's Media Foundation (IWMF) is accepting applications for the third round of the Howard G. Buffett Fund, which aims to support women journalists in their projects and endeavors.  
Possible projects include exposing underreported but critical global issues; challenging traditional media narratives; developing field-based expertise and strengthening careers; pursuing training and leadership opportunities; and launching entrepreneurial news projects or acquiring the skill to do so.
Applicants must have three or more years of professional journalism experience. Teams of journalists may apply, however the submission must be from a woman journalist and her team must include at least 50 percent women.
The deadline is July 25.

News Corp Media Fellowship open [Africa]

Image result for icfjEnglish-speaking African journalists from all areas of expertise can apply for this fellowship.
The International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and News Corp will select two journalists to spend a month in London honing their journalistic skills at The Times and at The Wall Street Journal London bureau. 
The News Corp Media Fellowship will begin Oct. 23 with a three-day orientation in London, designed by ICFJ, which will prepare the fellows for their time in the newsrooms.
During the program participants will work alongside colleagues, experiencing how the newsrooms operate and the digital transformations affecting journalism. They will also have the opportunity to meet key journalists, media experts and technologists.

Contest seeks reporting on pension plans [Brazil]

The Brazilian Association of Private Supplementary Pension Entities (ABRAPP, in Portuguese) is inviting submissions for the ABRAPP Journalism Awards.
The awards aim to encourage and highlight news stories that feature informative and educational content addressing the topic of pension plans.
Works must be news features, articles and/or in-depth reporting published in the Brazilian media between June 6, 2016 and Aug. 4, 2017.
The contest has two categories: highlight and merit. The winner in each category will receive BRL15,000.
The deadline is Aug. 4.
