Journalists who work for a domestic media outlet can apply for a scholarship to attend this free training. The Thomson Reuters Foundation, as part of the Sports and Society program, is hosting the workshop "Investigative sports reporting" Aug. 20 to 24 in Lagos, Nigeria.
The workshop will build the capacity of journalists to report on how sports is run in their own country or wider region. Participants are expected to develop story ideas that can be pursued after the workshop. Modest funding will be available to help cover the costs of reporting their story.
The organizer will cover travel and expenses of participating journalists.
The deadline is June 11.
