Roberto Cimetta Fund offers grants [MENA]

The Roberto Cimetta Fund is seeking applications for the TAMTEEN program to support organizations and artists collectives from the Arab world and Turkey.
This fund can serve to strengthen projects that emerge following the benefits of a travel grant and at the same time support the financial autonomy of local independent cultural initiatives.
At least five projects will be selected. Grants will not exceed EUR3,000 (US$3,592); funds must be used within two years. Applications can be sent in Arabic, English and French.
The deadline is Sept. 30.

MediaShift offers webinar on how to verify photos, videos [Worldwide]

DigitalEd, MediaShift's online training series, will webcast "How to verify photos and videos" at 1 p.m. EDT on Sept. 20.
The hourlong webinar will help participants develop strategies to identify fake photos and video, allowing them to establish the originality and veracity of the content.

Robert Bosch Fellowship sends journalists to Germany [US]

U.S. journalists interested in pursuing a project in Germany can apply for a fellowship.
The Robert Bosch Foundation Fellowship, sponsored by the Robert Bosch Foundation and Cultural Vistas, gives U.S. professionals the opportunity to complete a comprehensive professional development program in Germany.
The program includes travel, seminars, customized work placements and networking events designed to help fellows gain an in-depth understanding of current issues facing the European Union and Germany. Fellows may choose from two options of the program duration: six months or nine months.
Prior to the seminar series and work placements in September, fellows will participate in language training.
Candidates must be U.S. citizens under the age of 40 with at least five years of relevant work experience in their proposed field of work they wish to pursue in Germany. Graduate degree is preferred.
Candidates from the following fields can apply: business administration, cultural management (ex. museum, theater, orchestra), journalism, law, nonprofit, public policy and urban planning.
Fellows will receive a monthly stipend of EUR3,000 (US$3,594) starting in September, monthly summer stipend of EUR1,000 (US$1,198) and financial support for accompanying spouse and children. Accommodation and travel costs are also covered.
The application deadline is Nov. 1.

The Hacks/Hackers Buenos Aires Media Party "Rebooting Journalism" brings together free software,open contentopen knowledge and entrepreneurship to foster innovation. 
In its sixth edition, the event will feature more than 30 international guest speakers — including guests from Condé Nast, The Washington Post, Chartbeat and Vox — workshops, mentorship, a media fair and a hackathon.
During the first two days, participants will attend lectures in the mornings with experts and learn about innovative tools and regional experiences. Afternoons are reserved for data journalism workshops,citizen journalism projectsinteractive newsincome generation, metrics and more. The hackathon will take place on the final day.

Humanitarian photography contest open [Worldwide]

Spain-based Doctors of the World seeks entries for the International Humanitarian Photography Award Luis Valtueña. The award was created as a tribute to Luis Valtueña, Flors Sirera, Manuel Madrazo and Mercedes Navarro, aid workers killed in Rwanda in 1997 and Bosnia in 1995.
Photos must cover any of the following themes: humanitarian action, international cooperation and social exclusion, human rights violations, armed conflicts, natural disasters, refugee and immigrant populations, socially excluded groups, etc.
Contestants can submit up to 10 photographs, which can be part of a series or not. They may submit color photographs and/or black and white. Only photographs taken between January 2016 and October 2017 will be accepted. Works presented in previous editions will not be accepted. 
The first prize winner will receive a grant of EUR6,000 (US$7,185) intended to carry out a photographic project about topics related to the activity of Doctors of the World.
The deadline for entries is Nov. 10.
