Fellowships for Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue available [Worldwide]

Journalists who have a proven record of energy reporting and intermediate knowledge of English can apply for a fellowship to cover this event.

The Berlin Energy Transition Dialogue (#betd2020), organized by the German federal government, will take place March 24 and 25 in Berlin.

The event will focus on the shift to a sustainable energy system, including geopolitics, green finance, market designs for renewables, carbon pricing and multilateral cooperation.

The BETD Media Fellowship will enable journalists to attend the conference, talk to high-level stakeholders, connect with other BETD Media Fellows and join guided tours and side events during the Berlin Energy Week on March 23 to 27.

Fellows receive travel including board and lodging.

Paradigm Initiative offers digital Rights and Inclusion Media Fellowship [Africa]

Early-career journalists working for mainstream print and online newspapers can apply for this fellowship.

The Paradigm Initiative is accepting candidates for its Digital Rights and Inclusion Media Fellowship.

The fellowship, which runs from April to August, aims to immerse African journalists in digital rights and digital inclusion advocacy in the continent. Fellows will spend two weeks in Abuja, Nigeria, followed by four months working remotely with Paradigm Initiative to improve public understanding of digital rights and inclusion issues.

The organizer will provide a monthly stipend and a one-time research grant, in addition to fully-funded trips to participate in the program.

Digital contest calls for entries [Brazil]

Digital media professionals in Brazil can be nominated for this award.

The Brazilian Association of Digital Agents (ABRADi-SP) organizes the ABRADi Digital Professional Award.

The contest has 14 categories, including media (media planner, media manager, media director), web programming(developers in all programming platforms), planning (digital planner, planning manager, planning director), creation (creative director, art director, web designer), content (writer, copywriter, audiovisual content creator), projects (project manager, project analyst, PMO manager), startups and more.

The judges will choose finalists in each category for an online voting competition.

The winners will receive the Digital Trophy on a Digital Professional Day celebration April 4 in São Paulo.

Film competition focuses on water issues [Worldwide]

Anyone can submit a film to this contest.

The We Are Water Foundation seeks short films for the We Art Water Film Festival.

Works must raise awareness of the water problem around the world. This year's theme is the climate crisis. Films may be in any language but must include subtitles in English and have been produced after Jan. 1, 2017.

The categories are micro-documentary, micro-fiction and micro-animation. The winners will receive EUR3,000 (US$3,334) each. There is also an audience award, which offers a EUR1,000 (US$1,111) prize.

The deadline is April 2.
