Experienced journalists with a master's degree can apply for two positions in Miami.

The Department of Journalism + Media in the CARTA School of Communication + Journalism at Florida International University is hiring a graduate coordinator for its Spanish Language Journalism Master’s Program and an assistant or associate clinical professor of professional practice.

The graduate coordinator for the Spanish Language Journalism Master’s Program will be a non-tenure earning, clinical professor of practice position. He or she will teach graduate and undergraduate courses in Spanish and English. Apply by Feb. 15.

The assistant or associate clinical professor of professional practice will help shape the future of the department’s evolving South Florida Media Network complex and its various student media in its new Broadcast Journalism Studio. Apply immediately.

Grants for Doctoral research program available [MENA]

Students can apply for this grant to pursue a doctoral degree at an accredited university in the United Arab Emirates or abroad.

The Al Qasimi Foundation's Doctoral Research Grants is accepting applications from scholars from a wide range of disciplines and professional fields.

The grants support Ph.D. candidates in the research phase of their dissertations. Two awards are also available each year for applied research projects that have Ras Al Khaimah as a primary site for data gathering and analysis.

The foundation covers all student expenses associated with their field research in the United Arab Emirates, including return airfares, furnished accommodation for up to 12 months, a stipend to cover living costs and research support.

The deadline is March 1.

Grants for journalism training available [UK]

British journalists from socially or ethnically diverse backgrounds can apply for a training grant.

The Journalism Diversity Fund offers grants to journalists attending courses with the National Council for the Training of Journalists (NCTJ).

Candidates must provide proof of application or have secured a place in an NCTJ accredited course during the  academic year.

Applicants must reside in the United Kingdom and have a genuine commitment to journalism.

The deadline to apply for the next group of bursaries is April 1.
