Barents Ecology accepting documentary film entries [Worldwide]

Films that focus on environmental issues can be submitted to this contest.

The Barents Ecology Film Festival, organized by the International Youth Club Solveig, will take place May 1 to 5, 2019 in Petrozavodsk, Russia.

The festival is accepting feature and documentary films (50 minutes and longer), short feature and documentary films, animations and VR on ecological subjects produced in 2017 and 2018.

The deadline is March 1, 2019.

Dart awards accepting reports on Trauma, Violence [North America]

Journalists covering trauma and violence for North American outlets are eligible for an award.

The Dart Awards for Excellence in Coverage of Trauma will recognize journalism about the impact of violence, crime, disaster and other traumatic events on individuals, families and communities.

Entries may include breaking news, enterprise reporting, single stories, packages of coverage on a single event, cohesive series, local, regional or national television coverage, long-form documentary and online multimedia packages.

Awards are team prizes honoring all elements involved with reporting a story. Two teams will receive US$5,000 each. Entries must have been published, aired or broadcast in 2018.

The deadline to apply is Jan. 30, 2019. There is a US$50 entry fee.
