Fellowship for data journalists available [Eastern Europe, Central Eurasia]

Journalists and others working with data from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkey, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan can apply for this fellowship.

ForSet is accepting applications for its yearlong program Data Communication Fellowship, which includes a three-week training session between October and November in Tbilisi, Georgia, and online mentorship.

Fellows will advance their skills in data collection, data analysis, data storytelling, designing with data and more. They will research, write, design and publish data stories under the guidance of ForSet. Each fellow will be assigned a mentor from the ForSet team who will help them through the process of developing their data stories.

Candidates must be fluent in written and spoken English and be open to getting involved in cross-country collaboration and reporting.

A total of 12 fellows will be selected. Six fellows will receive full funding, which covers travel, accommodations and living costs in Tbilisi, and six fellows will receive partial funds fellows, covering travel only.  All fellows are expected to pay for their travel insurance.

The deadline is Sept. 8.
