Training on education reporting open [US]

Journalists focusing on education can apply for this free training.
Poynter is organizing "Covering equity in higher education" Nov. 15 and 16 at its campus in St. Petersburg, Florida.
This program aims to help journalists examine the nature of inequities in education and develop story ideas and reporting resources to improve coverage.
Participants will examine social and cultural forces that affect higher education and how they influence inequities; question how higher education affects their communities, including how arenas beyond education, such as business and government, are involved; learn how solutions-focused journalism can improve progress; and explore the connections between education and the future of work.
The deadline is Sept. 3. There is a limited number of travel stipends.
