Journalists can apply for a paid reporting initiative.
Mongabay is commissioning stories on great ape conservation across Asia and Africa as part of a new Special Reporting Project.
The initiative seeks stories that analyze individual threats; profile trailblazing great ape scientists and conservationists; or feature innovative solutions in conservation.
Articles must be 1,200 to 2,000 words long and include photos. Final reporting will be published first in English, but can be translated into another language and published by Mongabay.
Stories are paid on a per-word basis. Limited travel funds are available.
