Funds available for reporting on abortion, health and human rights issues [Brazil]

Journalists interested in investigating issues related to abortion in Brazil can apply for a grant.
Instituto Patrícia Galvão will fund investigative journalism on human rights, abortion and public health, with the support of the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji, in Portuguese) and Global Health Strategies Brazil.
Proposals should focus on the following themes: impacts of clandestine abortion on women's lives; cruelties in clandestine abortion routes; health services obstacles for abortion guaranteed by law; the role of health professionals; abortion: a permanent agenda in Congress; and challenges for the expansion of safe abortion in Brazil.
Five winners will receive up to BRL10,000 to produce in-depth reporting within four months.
The deadline to apply is May 2.
