NewsU at Poynter hosts free webinar on data journalism tool [Worldwide]

News University, the Poynter Institute e-learning project, is offering the course "Find stories in data faster and collaborate better with data.world: a digital tools tutorial" at 2 p.m. EDT Aug. 31.
Participants will learn how they can use data.world to discover data relevant to their beat with structured search, tags and alerts; how to slice data by copying and tweaking common SQL queries; tips for uploading and documenting data; data collaboration basics; and how to publish data and analysis for maximum impact.
The instructor is Ian Greenleigh, director of marketing at data.world and author of "The Social Media Side Door.
This course is part of a series on digital tools, supported by Google News Lab and in partnership with the American Press Institute and The Poynter Institute.
