Earth Journalism Network offers fisheries reporting grants [West Africa]

Journalists and other expert media practitioners who want to cover stories related to fisheries management in West Africa can apply for grants of up to US$500.
The Earth Journalism Network is offering reporting grants to support fisheries and environmental journalism as part of its West Africa Fisheries Journalism Project.
Suggested topics include the impact of overfishing and IUU fishing on coastal communities; the use of destructive fishing practices, bycatch and fish aggregating devices; community-led fisheries management initiatives; poverty reduction and food security through sustainable fisheries; challenges of transboundary management of fisheries and shared stock.
Proposals that focus on new topics or stories that have not been widely covered are preferred. Freelancers and staff from all types of media outlets—both large and small— are encouraged to submit applications.
The deadline is July 6.
