The Poynter Institute, in partnership with the Stanford Open Policing Project, the Robert R. McCormick Foundation and the Investigative Reporters and Editors Conference, is offering "Inside 60 million police stops," a free training for journalists who want to learn how to explore the data involving police stops.
This intensive one-day workshop features top professionals who have researched/covered this story as guest faculty. Participants will also learn how to use databases to sort and make sense of statistics.
There are scholarships available for hotel and/or air travel.
The deadline is June 1.
