Dubawa offers fact-checking fellowship [Nigeria, Ghana]

Journalists can apply for The Dubawa Fact-Checking Fellowship 

The fellowship seeks to promotes accountability of public institutions and political office holders by strengthening the individual capacity of journalists to critically examine public statements and supports the establishment of fact-checking desks in various newsrooms across Nigeria and Ghana. 

The opportunity is for journalists who are analytical, dedicated, innovative, highly knowledgeable in politics and researchers or academics with demonstrable evidence of commitment/interest in fact-checking as a mechanism for promotion and protection of truth in human affairs.

This fellowship is supported by Heinrich Boll Stiftung Foundation and offers a monthly stipend to cover all costs of the investigation and research project for fellows.

Vacancy :Code for Africa seeks fact-checkers [Cameroon, CAR, Niger]


Journalists in Cameroon, the Central African Republic (CAR) and Niger interested in fighting misinformation can apply for this position.

The Code for Africa is looking for three full-time fact-checkers to join its PesaCheck team.

The fact-checkers will produce daily fact-check articles, as well as collaborate with PesaCheck media partners and/or Code for Africa’s digital innovation teams on election monitoring or other special projects.

The ideal candidates will have at least two years of experience, including in transnational multilingual digital newsrooms, digital collaboration tools, social media, data literacy and/or data journalism, as well as a demonstrable understanding of public finance management/budget processes. 

The deadline is May 28.
