Independent Journalism Center grants support for campaigns against disinformation [Moldova]

Independent media and NGOs can apply for these grants.

The Independent Journalism Center (IJC), in partnership with Internews in Moldova, offers grants to help fight disinformation and propaganda in the media, as a part of the "Press for Democracy, Integration and Responsibility in Moldova" program. 

The organizers will award two grants of US$5,000 each to support the production and promotion of innovative content that exposes disinformation and propaganda.

IJC will also provide mentorship support in content production and distribution.

The deadline is Dec. 5.

Independent journalism podcast calls for pitches on disinformation [Worldwide]


Journalists can submit audio stories on the impact of disinformation on ordinary lives to this program.

Independent journalism podcast On Spec is commissioning three, 30-minute, character-driven stories on the topic of disinformation. Suggested topics include disinformation around climate change, the novel coronavirus and women’s rights.

Those interested must submit a 250-word pitch, covering how the reporter has a personal connection to the topic. Selected pitches will receive US$1,000 each to develop the story.

Pitches will not be accepted from Hong Kong, India, Russia and Turkey, which have already been featured in the program.

The deadline is Aug. 15.
