UNHCR launches Journalism contest on statelessness [Central Asia]


Journalists from Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan can enter this contest.

The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) in Central Asia organizes a contest about citizenship and statelessness.

Possible topics include reasons for statelessness and innovative solutions for this problem, extreme vulnerability of people without citizenship and impact of statelessness on a person, risks and challenges that stateless people face in Central Asia during a pandemic, and more.

Entries must be in English, Russian, Kazakh, Kyrgyz, Tajik, Turkmen or Uzbek languages, published or aired between Oct. 15 and Dec. 31.

The winners will receive a laptop, a tablet and a smartphone for the first, second and third places, respectively.


The deadline is Dec. 31.
