Professional and amateur photographers can enter this contest.
Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest, hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, where people across Africa can contribute photos about their environment to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the foundation.
This year, the competition seeks submissions about the theme "Africa on the Move or Transport," which can be representations of movement, migration or transportation, whether local or regional, by path, road, sea or air, self-propelled or by animal, natural or mechanical means.
The first, second and third place winners will receive US$1,000, US$800 and US$500. Two other categories –culturally specific or traditional representations of transport or structures that facilitate transportation and best quality video (audio and visual quality and storytelling will be taken into account) – offer a US$500 prize each.
The deadline is April 15.
