Course on human trafficking, modern day slavery available [Brazil]

Journalists with at least three years of experience can apply for this free training.

The Thomson Reuters Foundation is offering a one-week reporting workshop on human trafficking and modern-day slavery June 15 to 19 in São Paulo.

The workshop will offer a combination of expertise and hands-on training, with an emphasis on producing high-impact stories for widespread dissemination. Participants will learn about efforts to set global standards for combating modern slavery, including fundamental conventions, international instruments and more.

Applicants must be Brazilian full-time journalists or regular contributors to broadcast media organizations in Brazil.

Selected journalists will have their travel and accommodation expenses covered.

The deadline is April 13.
