Webinar focuses on health journalism [Worldwide]

Journalists interested in health reporting and U.S. immigration issues are invited to attend this program.

The Center for Health Journalism at the University of Southern California will host the webinar "Public charge: immigrant health under Trump’s new rule" at 1 p.m. EDT on Sept. 11.

The hourlong webinar will delve into the effects of a new immigration rule that aims to make it harder for U.S. immigrants to obtain green cards if they use public benefits. Journalists will learn key data points, resources and story ideas related to the issue.

The panelists are Elizabeth Aguilera, multimedia journalist who covers health care and immigration for CalMatters, and Tom K. Wong, founding director of the U.S. Immigration Policy Center and associate professor of political science at the University of California San Diego.

Registration is free and ongoing.
