The Thomson Reuters Foundation, in partnership with the Institute for the Advancement of Journalism, is looking for journalists based anywhere in Africa to take part in a long-term scheme that will develop their ability to report on illicit financial flows.
Selected journalists will participate in an intensive training covering illicit finance, reporting on companies, accounts and budgets and investigative techniques. The first workshop will take place Oct. 22 to 23 in Cape Town, followed by a conference.
Participants will propose one or more story ideas and receive modest funding to realize their stories. The organization also covers air travel expenses, accommodation, local transfers and meals relating to the training.
The deadline is Aug. 13.
