Wits University offers Fellowships for investigative journalism conference [Africa]

Journalism students and community journalists can apply for a fellowship to attend this conference.

The African Investigative Journalism Conference, organized by the Journalism Program of Wits University, will take place Oct. 28 to 30 in Johannesburg, South Africa.

The event will feature more than 50 panels, training sessions, keynotes and workshops with investigative reporters, editors and producers from the African continent and abroad.

There are 40 fellowships for investigative journalists, 20 fellowships for students from South African universities, 10 fellowships for students from the SADC region and 10 fellowships for community newspaper journalists who are members of the Association of Independent Publishers in South Africa.

The fellowships will cover travel, accommodations, local transportation, meals and conference fees.

The fellowship deadline is Aug. 2 for investigative journalists, Aug. 8 for SADC students, Aug. 31 for South African journalists and community newspaper journalists.
