Escola de Dados hosts Data journalism award [Brazil]

Journalists who use data to report on public interest issues can compete for this award.

Escola de Dados is hosting the Cláudio Weber Abramo Award for Data Journalism.

The competition has four categories: data-driven research, visualization, innovation in data journalism and open data.

Entries must be journalistic works published or aired between July 1, 2018 and Sept. 30, 2019.

The winner in each category will receive BRL2,500 in addition to registration in the Brazilian Conference on Digital Data and Digital Journalism (Coda.Br), scheduled for November in São Paulo, as well as the 15th Congress of the Brazilian Association of Investigative Journalism (Abraji) in 2020.

The 12 finalists will also receive free admission to Coda.Br.

The deadline is Sept. 8.
