Unpublished writers from underrepresented backgrounds are invited to compete for this award.Canongate is accepting entries for the Nan Shepherd Prize, aimed at providing an inclusive platform for new and emerging nature writers.
Contestants must send a one-page synopsis of a narrative nonfiction dealing with nature. Self-published authors are eligible to enter.
The winner will receive a book deal with Canongate, which includes editorial mentoring and an advance of GBP10,000, and the option of literary representation with Jenny Brown Associates.
The deadline is Sept. 10.
