Budding and midcareer journalists of color are invited to this training.The Power of Diverse Voices: The Poynter Minority Writers Workshop, funded by the Association of Opinion Journalists, will take place Nov. 7 to 10 in St. Petersburg, Florida.
The seminar seeks to train the next generation of opinion writers from a wide spectrum of backgrounds. Participants will learn fact-based opinion writing and use social media to spark a conversation across digital and other platforms.
The program will cover tuition and hotel costs. A small travel stipend will be available.
The deadline is Aug. 16.
