Pulitzer Center hosts safety training for journalists in Hostile Environment [Amazon countries]

Journalists working in the Amazon region can apply for this free course.

The Pulitzer Center is offering a Hostile Environment/First Aid Training (HEFAT) course, as part of the Rainforest Journalism Fund. The course will take place July 14 to 18 in Manaus, Brazil.

The training will be led by 1st Option Safety Group, a London-based security firm that runs courses for journalists operating in difficult areas of the world. The program will focus on the specific challenges of reporting in remote regions of the Amazon.

The organizer will cover accommodations, food and non-alcoholic beverages.

The deadline for applications is May 20.
