Professional and amateur photographers can enter this contest.Wiki Loves Africa is an annual contest, hosted by the Wikimedia Foundation, where people across Africa can contribute photos about their environment to Wikimedia Commons for use on Wikipedia and other project websites of the foundation.
This year, the competition seeks submissions about the theme "Play!," which can be representations of joyful and serious games, sport and recreation in the form of board or mental games, physical fun or contests, playful interactions, theatrical and musical performances, etc.
The first, second and third place winners will receive US$1,000, US$800 and US$500. Two other categories –women in sport and culturally specific or traditional formal forms of play– offer a US$500 prize each.
The deadline is March 1.
