Metcalf Institute hosts environmental reporting workshop [Worldwide]

Journalists from all media who want to improve their skills in environmental reporting can apply for a weeklong workshop in Rhode Island.

The Metcalf Institute is accepting applications for the Annual Science Immersion Workshop for Journalists. The workshop will take place at the University of Rhode Island's Graduate School of Oceanography from June 2 to 7.

Participants will explore the impacts of human activities in coastal ecosystems through one-on-one interactions with leading scientists, board a research vessel, visit wetlands and sharpen their investigative reporting skills.

The fellowship provides room, board, tuition and up to US$500 in travel support for U.S. journalists. International journalists traveling from outside the United States are eligible for up to US$1,000 reimbursement for travel.

The deadline is Feb. 18.
