Social media and fact-checking program open [MENA]

Journalists across the Middle East and North Africa can apply for this program.

A new initiative from the International Center for Journalists (ICFJ) and the
Facebook Journalism Project aims to empower 2,000 MENA journalists to use social media to verify information, engage audiences and protect themselves online.

The Social Media Solutions program will equip journalists with the latest tools to sort fact from fiction on social media platforms. The curriculum will cover four key areas: verification, security, engagement and storytelling.

The trainers will hold in-person workshops in Jordan, Lebanon, Morocco, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates. Webinars will be offered in Arabic to reach even more journalists across the MENA region.

Those who would like to be informed about program dates and opportunities must fill out a form by Dec. 15.

  1. Having clearly defined goals is useful for both businesses and all of their employees. By figuring out what should be accomplished, everyone will have a much easier time knowing which efforts are driving the right type of results, and which ones need to be adjusted.
