Short films directed, scripted or produced by women or centering around a woman protagonist can participate in this festival.
The Mostra Lugar de Mulher é no Cinema will take place March 25 to 31, 2019 in Salvador. The event is organized by producers Segredo Filmes, Olho de Vidro Produções and Moara Rocha Produções.
The festival seeks to give visibility to the production of women on a diversity of themes, approaches and genres, in addition to promoting discussions that expose violence and intolerance against women.
Entries can be fiction, documentary, animation, experimental or hybrid films that are less than 20 minutes long.
The competition features trophies for best film, best screenplay, best director, best actress and best animation as well as the Marielle Franco Special Award for the best film on human rights.
The deadline is Dec. 31.
