Thomson Reuters offers fellowships to attend agricultural development conference [Africa]

Journalists interested in tellling the story of rural development can apply for a fellowship to participate in this event.
The Thomson Reuters Foundation, with funding from the United Nation's International Fund for Agricultural Development (IFAD), will select journalists to attend the African Green Revolution Forum (AGRF). The event will take place Sept. 3 to 7 in Kigali, Rwanda.
Participants will build specific expertise and increase familiarity and knowledge of issues faced by rural communities, including how small-scale agriculture can respond to the growing demand for food, and the essential need to support rural transformation and smallholder agriculture.
Applicants must be working as journalists or regular contributors to print, broadcast or online media organizations. They must have at least two years of experience and a good level in spoken and written English. Candidates should include professional evidence of their interest in rural peoples’ issues and development.
Fellowships cover air travel expenses, accommodation, local transfers and meals.
The deadline is July 31.
