Journalists and others interested in collaborative journalism and access to information are invited to participate in this two-month project.
BRIO seeks journalists to be part of BRIO Escavadores, a collaborative journalism project that aims to investigate candidates for public office in the upcoming Brazilian election.
Journalists will be paid for each document they investigate. Possible documents include real estate and company records, lawsuits and other records that indicate a conflict of interest.
Participants will learn how to dig information in courts, registries, commercial boards, online systems and public databases as well as request public information through Brazil's Law of Access to Information and more.
Those interested must attend an online course developed by The Independent, which costs BRL39.
The deadline is Aug. 15.
