De Correspondent seeks managing editor [US]

De Correspondent, an ad-free journalism platform based in Amsterdam, is hiring a managing editor to launch its English-language version, The Correspondent.

Responsibitilies include building a team of correspondents and supporting staff, creaing a manual for "The Correspondent way of journalism," helping create a list of potential beats and hires, helping with the membership campaign, managing day-to-day operations after its launch and more.

The ideal candidate must subscribe to the philosophy and principles of the platform, have a deep understanding of the shortcomings of the digital news industry and bold ideas on how to fix them, in addition to being innovative and an experienced public speaker.
