Professional journalists and photographers can compete for an award.
Petrobras, Brazil's energy company, is inviting entries for its journalism awards aimed at recognizing the importance of the press for democracy.
The competition is divided among regional and national categories along the main themes: economy, science and technology, sustainability, culture, sports, photojournalism and TV journalism.
Works must have been published or aired between Jan. 11, 2017 to Feb. 10, 2018 by newspapers/magazines, radio, television and news websites.
Winners will receive BRL10,000 to BRL40,000, depending on the category.
The application deadline is May 31.
