Journalists living in Latin America can register for this free course in Spanish.
Argentine environmental news magazine Claves21, with support from the Earth Journalism Network, is organizing a nine-week online course beginning March 12. The program aims to provide journalists with information, knowledge and tools to cover biodiversity issues in the region.
Journalists Damián Profeta and Fermín Koop will explore the conceptual aspects of biodiversity, biodiversity policies in Latin America, key issues of media coverage and digital tools to create significant content.
The three best pieces resulting from the course will receive an award. The prizes will consist of a diploma and ARS5,000 (US$250) for the first place winner, ARS4,000 (US$200) for the second place and ARS3,000 (US$150) for the third.
Participants who complete the course will become part of the Claves 21 Latin American Network of Environmental Journalists and receive information about scholarships, competitions, financing and other professional opportunities.
The deadline to register is March 9.
