Call for proposals on Media Training for Journalists (Iraqi )

The U.S. Mission in Iraq has announced an open competition for eligible organizations to submit proposals for a cooperative agreement to develop and implement the “Media Training for Journalists in the Iraqi Kurdistan Region program”.
The goal of the program is to improve quality of local journalism to support ongoing democratization and human rights efforts, while providing key demographics with the training required to effectively represent and defend their communities through the media.
The program will provide five to ten targeted trainings for Iraqi Kurdistan Region-based journalists to improve the overall level of professionalism and adherence to ethical standards.
Trainings should focus on key demographics such as women, ethnic and religious minorities, journalists at religiously-affiliated media outlets and journalists from outlets considered primary news sources in regions recently controlled by ISIS.

  • Award Ceiling: $100,000
  • Award Floor: $25,000
Eligibility Criteria
Applications must:
  • Have demonstrated experience developing and administering similar programs;
  • Have the capacity to operate in Iraq and have active partnerships with organization(s) operating in Iraq needed to support the program.
