Photojournalism contest offers investigative grant [Worldwide]

The Carmignac Gestion Foundation is accepting applications for the ninth annual Carmignac Gestion Photojournalism Award. The foundation awards those who wish to go where others will not, visiting zones that are largely ignored by the mainstream media.
The topic of this year's competition is threats to the Arctic.
The winner will receive a EUR50,000 (US$57,004) grant to support in the implementation, production and dissemination of an in-depth photo series. The foundation promotes the award with an international touring exhibition and by financing a monograph. 
The application deadline is Oct. 15.
