The UN Migration Agency (IOM) will host the second annual Global Migration Film Festival Dec. 5 to 18 in several countries around the world.
The festival seeks films that capture the promise and challenges of migration for those who leave their homes in search of a better life and the contributions migrants make to their new communities.
Films must be at least 25 minutes long and include subtitles in English.
Three winners will receive US$1,500 each.
Filmmakers who have migrated in their lifetime are also invited to submit short video profiles about their own experience or the experiences of other migrants for the IOM's "I am a migrant" campaign. Twenty videos will be selected for a US$100 prize.
The deadline is Sept. 17.
