College graduates from Brazil, China, India, Russia and the United States can apply for a fellowship in Germany.
The Alexander von Humboldt Foundation offers the German Chancellor Fellowship for tomorrow's leaders. The fellowship gives them the opportunity to spend a year in Germany networking with other prospective leaders from abroad to explore new solutions to global issues.
Fellows receive a monthly fellowship of EUR2,150 (US$2,410), EUR2,450 (US$2,747) or EUR2,750 (US$3,083), depending on their qualifications; individual mentoring during their stay in Germany; additional financial support for family members, travel expenses or a German language course; a study tour of Germany and a number of events; and extensive alumni sponsorship.
Candidates must have completed their first degree less than 12 years ago and develop a project of social significance with a host of their choice in Germany.
