African citizens ages 18 to 25 are invited to enter this contest.
The UONGOZI Institute of African Leadership for Sustainable Development is accepting entries for its annual Leadership Essay Competition.
This year, contestants must write about their perspective on leadership as it relates to peace and security in Africa, answering the question: “If you were a leader, what would you do to ensure that peace and security is achieved and sustained in Africa?”
Essays must be written in English.
The top five winners will receive cash prizes. The overall winner will be awarded US$2,000. They will travel to Johannesburg, South Africa, to receive their awards at a ceremony to be held during the Africa Leadership Forum Dinner Gala on Aug. 24.
The submission deadline is July 14.
