The Angkor Photo Workshops are intensive, tuition-free workshops aimed at nurturing new talent from Asia. The program is part of the Angkor Photo Festival, which will take place Dec. 1 to 10.
A total of 30 participants will be selected for the weeklong workshop conducted by international professional photographers.
Participants are expected to complete one photo story under the guidance of their tutors.

Online course covers communication management [Latin America]

Communication professionals who wish to learn strategies and public relations applicable to state or private press offices can register for this online training.
The Centro de Formación en Periodismo Digital (CFPD) of the University of Guadalajara is organizing the course "Communication management at press offices." The course will run from July 17 to Aug. 27.
Topics include how to define the functions and structure of a press office, develop strategies for communicating programs of public interest and determine the ideal spokesperson or spokesman for the office. Participants will learn to implement efficient strategies and tools for communicating official messages to the public.
The deadline to register is July 4. Registration costs MXN2,000 for Mexican residents and US$110 for participants outside Mexico.

Media management program accepting applications [MENA]

Journalists from Egypt, Kurdistan Iraq, Lebanon, Jordan and Morocco with at least five years of experience can apply for this program.
Maharat Foundation and DW Akademie invite Arab journalists to take part in their advanced training program about media management, which will run January to May 2018 in the Middle East and North Africa region.
Participants will learn knowledge and skills that will help them run a media business successfully. Topics include how to develop the media business strategy, create, promote and sell content and how to create an effective team in contemporary media.
Graduates of the training will receive a certificate to show they have gained extensive understanding of media management in the context of journalism. Teaching and coursework will be in English.
All costs of the training, including travel expenses, will be covered by the organizers.

Portrait photography contest open [Worldwide]

The Taylor Wessing Photographic Portrait Prize 2017, organized by the National Portrait Gallery in London, is accepting entries. ​Applicants are encouraged to portray people with an emphasis on their identity as individuals.
The first place winner will receive GBP15,000 (US$19,462). One or more shortlisted photographers will be awarded cash prizes at the judges' discretion.
All selected photographers under the age of 30 are eligible for the John Kobal New Work Award. The winning photographer will receive GBP5,000 (US$6,487) and a commission from the Gallery to photograph a sitter connected with the U.K. film industry.
The entry fee is GBP28 (US$36.33) per photograph. Each applicant can submit up to six photographs.
The deadline is June 29.

Recent broadcast journalism graduates or graduates from a related field seeking a career in journalism can apply for an internship in London. 
CNN hosts eight internships ranging from news gathering to special feature programs, digital and sports.
The next intern program will run from Sept. 1 to Dec. 31.
Candidates must be British/EU citizens or have the right to work in the United Kingdom long term.
The deadline is July 1.
