Journalists interested in health reporting are invited to attend this free program.
The Center for Health Journalism at the University of Southern California will host the webinar "How our environment gets under our skin" at 2 p.m. EDT on Oct. 9.
The hourlong webinar will focus on the latest research on how geography and discrimination affect physiology and health. Participants will explore how this new understanding might change how journalists report on health issues, especially among minority and low-income communities.
The panelists are Anthony Iton, M.D., J.D., M.P.H., senior vice president for Healthy Communities at the California Endowment, and Elissa Epel, Ph.D, a professor in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco.
