Travel grants for data journalists available [Eastern Europe, Central Asia]

Image result for DataFestJournalists, civic activists and data enthusiasts from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Moldova, Russia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Ukraine and Uzbekistan can apply for travel grants.
DataFest Tbilisi 2017, the annual international data and communications event organized by ForSet and the Digital Communication Network, will take place Nov. 15 to 17 in Tbilisi, Georgia.  
This event brings together journalists, civil society and NGO activists, government officials, data analysts, developers, designers and other specialists who are working with data or willing to explore data opportunities.
Topics include open data and good governance, data journalism, storytelling and advocacy, data communication and visualization and more.
The grants cover travel, accommodation and participation costs.
Participants must be fluent in English and/or in Russian.
The deadline is Sept. 20.
